Debora is a doctor and CEO of the Iberoamerican Institute of Bioregenerative Medicine (IBIOMER). She has been working with autologous stem cell transplants from bone marrow (BMSC) in humans for 5 years. Her research focuses on clinically correlating the angioplastic and immunoregulatory power of autologous BMSC transplants without culture in patients with endothelial dysfunction/inflammation as in diabetes mellitus. These present reduction of circulating endothelial progenitor cells which preceding macro and microvascular complications and autonomic or somatic neuropathic damage. Their study, under multidisciplinary management of clinical cases of diabetic foot with perforating lesions to states of necrosis grade III / IV, reached, as a result, the total regeneration of tissues, 30 days after the first autotransplant with previous physiological conditioning in vivo, to promove the angiogenic activation. She works hard to promote to IBIOMER and the translational research in Venezuela with multicenter studies to extend other Latinoamerican countries.
