The stem cell has a great interest recently because it has the potential to replace damaged or defective cells from several incurable diseases and injuries through transplantation therapy. Stem cell research is one of the most captivating areas of contemporary biology, but, as with many expanding fields of scientific inquiry, medical researchers believe that the stem cells have the potential to treat the human diseases as it generates the new discoveries rapidly. stem cell research plays an important role in regenerative medicine, which also distances the disciplines of tissue engineering, developmental cell biology, cellular therapeutics, gene therapy, biomaterials (scaffolds and matrices), chemical biology and nanotechnology.
